IMAGE CAPTION - Fencing meets on the Fencing Strips.

Much like tennis, fencing is a sport of strategy. Some boys are able to use their athletic ability and quickness, while others are more strategic in their approach. As campers reach our advanced classes they combine the two as they learn to fence, and think, quickly and efficiently.

Boys begin on the strips learning how to safely handle a foil. Advances, retreats, lunges, parries, feints, and beat attacks quickly follow so that campers can build an arsenal of options as they begin fencing bouts. From here, those who would like to may be asked to use their new skills in representing their tribe during fight night (our fencing and wrestling tournament).

Kay and I were very pleased with his experience at Timberlake, and we're almost as eager as he is for his second session this year. Memphis, Tennessee

After mastering the foil, our most advanced fencers may be invited to expand their weapons with an introduction to the Saber.
