The first day of camp today really set the tone for the rest of these two weeks. The morning was a little chilly but today was definitely one of the most gorgeous days we’ve had this summer. Eighty degrees and breezy all afternoon, so obviously we took advantage of it.

We had a couple of trips go out this morning after our delicious blueberry muffin and baked oatmeal breakfast. A hiking trip went out to Black Basalm today and it sounded like Harris C, Mike P, Eric H, George H, Hank B, Jack D, and Colby F all had an awesome time. It was also a pretty good day for a fly fishing trip. Spencer G, Ehan H, and Attila K all had a pretty fly time. Not to mention Adrian A. who caught himself a brown trout.

Don’t worry though; there was still a lot of fun being had on camp property today as well. Camp Craft had some pretty neat classes at the low ropes course today. Baylor T caught on pretty quick in pottery class and made himself a pretty sweet bowl. I see some more pottery masterpieces “looming” in his future. Andres D had a stellar performance on the tennis court today in third period, winning a few games of jail break… more like Andre Agassi. In climbing class, Nick B. made it across the traverse wall, meaning he is now pretty close to getting that bronze bar.

Before dinner tonight we took our camp photo so everyone was looking sharp in their new Sunday Shirts. However no one was looking better than Carson H after the photographer gave him the dollar for best smile, much to my cha”grin”. I forgot all about it though after my big spaghetti and meat ball dinner. It was so tasty. Tonight’s evening activity is Sock War so all the kids are pretty excited about that. Stay tuned tomorrow to see which tribe comes out on top. Take care and God bless. It’s going to be a great two weeks!
