Saturday 7/8/17

Camp Timberlake

On Saturday we received seven new campers to the current session. Initiated into the Seminole Tribe was Trip C, Carson G, Hugh H, and Trey W. Initiated into the Iroquois Tribe was Roman L, Matthew S, and Robert S. We would like to say congratulations and welcome to Camp Timberlake!

The evening activity on Friday night was a game we call “counselor hunt” where the campers must locate all of the hiding staff members. The Seminoles were victorious, taking the Noles one step closer to claiming the coveted banner. During the day on Saturday, Davis finished the majority of his gold requirements for riflery. Of these requirements, one of the most important is giving a safety brief that Davis delivered with great confidence and clarity. Miles received his bronze in fencing.

On the paintball course, Ben L. won his one versus one duel bringing him closer to his goal of bronze. In Kayaking, campers Scott, Ford, and Jake flawlessly performed their combat rolls on the river today. Blake, Max, and Adam went on their first kayaking trip. In climbing class today, Connor and Seth worked on their solvers. Additionally, Ben and Paul went on a trip to the new property and absolutely loved it. The trip out to the future Camp Timberlake site located in Marion North Carolina; included a property tour, lunch, and swimming in the lake.
