“See you next summer!” was a phrase that echoed all around Camp Timberlake today, as we said goodbye to our 1A campers. Closing days are bittersweet here!

We started with biscuits, eggs, and bacon in the dining hall, then headed out to a special chapel service at the site of the future Timberlake chapel – overlooking the lake. We sang with gusto!

Stepping back and watching campers and staff, arm in arm, singing together was a beautiful reminder to me not only of the incredible community camp offers, but also of the amazing love that God, the source of all our relationships, gives us freely.

These first two weeks were full of our camp motto – growth through friends and adventure. It was incredible to watch new friendships being made, old ones strengthened, and all of the adventures that were had. We are thankful for a wonderful (and historic) start to the summer here at camp, and are waiting with anticipation for our 1B campers to arrive tomorrow!
