Today we closed what was an incredible and historic summer here at Camp Timberlake. The Mark was ringing this morning as the Camp Hymn echoed off the rafter and our session 3 campers celebrated what was an outstanding session. We watched excited boys greeting their families, regaling them with stories of adventures had and skills learned here at camp. The ceremony culminated in the announcement of the banner winner…the Iroquois! Congratulations to this session’s Iroquois, who have now added their names to the history books here at Timberlake.

It is always bittersweet to close out a summer. As directors, Catherine and I are proud to see our amazing staff finish strong and to see the smiles on both parents and campers faces, as the boys walk a little taller, stand a little straighter and smile a little more confidently after their time at Timberlake. But it is not without sadness that we begin to put camp to bed for the winter today. This place is beautiful, but it is just not complete without the people! We will miss everyone dearly this offseason and will be counting down the days until next summer.

In the meantime, however, be sure to stay connected to Timberlake. We already have several great programs lined up for this year. We are taking a rock climbing trip to Joshua Tree and a kayaking trip to Costa Rica! Both of those trips will happen right after Christmas and you won’t want to miss it! We are also putting together a service trip for the spring(late March), so be sure to stay tuned for details on that adventure.

Catherine and I could not be more grateful for the opportunity we have each summer to serve here at Timberlake and work with your sons. Thank you again for sharing them with us and see you next summer!
