It was a great start to another week here at Camp Timberlake!  Campers woke up to the smell of Bacon and Pancakes to start their day, then it was off to Chapel.  The weather here greeted us with rain to cool the temperatures down to pleasant 70’s, and the breeze has helped us beat the heat!

Climbing spent the day learning about friction hitches, while cooking made chocolate chip cookies, and then ate them all I hear!  Rocketry spent free time launching to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the moon landing, while the cabin of Huckleberry spent their free time making some awesome forts in their cabin.

The evening greeted us with Chicken Alfredo and Carrots.   After dinner, campers learned that tonight is Cabin Night! Our campers are spending their time together with their cabins doing a wide range of activities that their personal counselors have all planned for them.  It’s a special time to really connect with their cabin mates. An example is Little Slaty gets to play basketball and make smores at the Council Ring tonight.

Three trips went out today as well!  Mountain Biking went out to the Tomahawk Trail over at Camp Merri-Mac, those on the trip were Spencer G, Alexander W, Mason B, JT D, Grant S, Rees R, Oliver R, and Christopher D.  Climbing took a Multipitch trip today to Table Rock in the Linville Gorge and did the 2-pitch climb Cave Route, those on the trip were Sebastian P, Lucas Z, and Gresham C. Backpacking got back from a first ever overnight to Grandfather Mountain, a beautiful mountain in the NC high country! Those on the trip were Cullen L, Brayden C, Christian S, Lance K, Peter B, and Andres D.
